• Variegations refer to the splotches, stripes, half moon, and or speckles of variety of colors on a leaf. Variegation occurs due to the lack of chlorophyll in the leaf's cell, thus causing the mutation, resulting in white, cream, mint, or lime green colorations. Some variegation is stable, which creates plants that can produce leaf after leaf of variegation. However, most variegation are unstable mutations, which means the plant can revert back to fully green if not given ideal living conditions.
